Thin-film Photovoltaic cells

Tech Love
Thin-film PV cells
As the need for cost effective, renewable energy increases so to does the drive for advanced forms of photosynthesis. With the ability to produce thin malleable solar cells we can harness more of the sun's power in a variety of unique ways.

According to an article written by Gil Knier, this process of converting light into electricity was originally discovered by "a French physicist, Edmund Bequerel, in 1839" (Article). Today there are "Third Generation Photovoltaic Cells" that open up a whole new realm of possibilities and applications. How about outdoor synthetic plants that collect solar energy and deliver it straight to your house? Just the artistic aspects of such a technology gets me excited. So while this emerging technology gets me all hot and sweaty with giddy excitement, it should easily spark a little flame of interest in even the desensitized, unresponsive, vegetative dweebs!

Get this information while it is still hot! Photovoltaic Cells are listed as one of the "Top Ten Technological advances of 2011"  and has the imagination of even the Great Einstein behind it. Who would have known that "green" technologies could be heart pounding excitement? To paraphrase a great artist: "Just imagine the people living life..." so green!

What are your crazy ideas for the use of Solar Cell Technology?
